RIDDOR — reporting injuries and dangerous occurrences

RIDDOR is the UK duty to report certain work injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences to the enforcing authority.

Summary only — not legal advice. Check the official sources below.

RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013) sets when an employer or responsible person must report an incident.

Reportable events include specified injuries, over-seven-day incapacitation, work-related fatalities, certain occupational diseases, and listed dangerous occurrences.

Reports go to the HSE (or the relevant enforcing authority) via the online forms. Keep your own record of what happened and what you did next.

This page is a plain-English overview. It is not legal advice — check the current HSE guidance for your situation.

How Pure Safety helps

Pure Safety records incidents, observations and the actions that follow on the site record. Incident fields can support a RIDDOR-oriented write-up; the app does not file the report to HSE for you.
